Customs Documentation Simplified
Customs documentation is one of the most important elements of international shipping. Accurately completed paperwork will help your shipment reach its destination on time and reduce the risk of it being held by customs.*
Determining which international shipping documents you will need to complete
FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.ca makes international shipping easy. When you process your shipment online using FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.ca, we'll recommend customs documents that may be required for your shipments, based on the information you enter.
Knowing your HS Code (Harmonized System Code), and entering it in the commodity section will help us more accurately identify the documents that may be required for your shipment. You can look up HS codes for your products and commodities using the Statistics Canada website or
the United States International Trade Commission website.
You can also use FedEx Global Trade Manager® to look up your HS code and determine which customs documents may be required for your shipment.
Review the following commonly required customs documents to help you determine if they will apply to your shipments:
Commercial Invoice
A Commercial Invoice is required for non-document FedEx Express® international shipments and for all FedEx International Ground shipments.
